Kevin and Yen Lam Maeda

Kevin Maeda is Melvyn Maeda’s son (Uncle Dale’s nephew). Kevin met his wife, Yen Maeda, in college when they were at UC Berkeley. Yen was a Chinese refugee from Vietnam and stayed a year in Pulau Bidong, Malaysia refugee camp before coming to America at the age of six. Kevin earned a BS in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from UC Berkeley and an MBA from UCLA. He has been working as a Chief Investment Officer. Yen got her BA in Social Welfare and held a career in Human Resources in the high-tech industry before becoming a stay-at-home parent to their two girls. Their daughters are Kylie and Kyra Maeda. Kylie competed in Gymnastics and cheerleading, while Kyra competed in Color Guard with her High School marching band. Kylie graduated high school during the 2020 Covid lockdown. She went on to college at UC Santa Barbara and graduated in 2024 with a double major in Stats Data Science and Economics. Kylie loves traveling around the world and backpacking. She will do some traveling before joining Visa in their Leadership Associate (VLA) program in September of 2024. Kyra is working on her degrees also at UCSB, double majoring in Financial Mathematics and Economics. Since becoming empty-nesters, Kevin and Yen have enjoyed traveling also. Looking for more adventures in 2025.
